PT-20: Civerous & Stygian Obsession - Heralds of Affliction

As a deadly plague ravages the planet and sets the world into pandaemonium, two Californian death metal entities born of psychic sickness raise their voices together in dolorous elegy to ravage the minds of those who have ears to hear. These Heralds of Affliction rise from their respective black pedigrees of such various projects as Aylwin, At Dusk, Dry Insides, Stavves, and Anhelar to ever-darker depths of depraved death-worshipping metal: Civerous, a revolting onslaught of challenging, warlike derangement; Stygian Obsession, twisted, nauseating delirium.   This release deals a barrage of over 40 minutes of punishing death metal riffs that carry with them disturbing atmospheres of equal intensity. From the nascent sepulchral blasting onslaught of Civerous’ “Forms of Decrepit Brilliance” to the funereal gloom of Stygian Obsession’s “Slouching Towards Cognizance” that closes the album, a mood of earnest antipathy and bleak abhorrence remain pronouncedly constant.

  Recommended for listeners of Demigod, Depravity, Gorement, Grave Upheaval, Teitanblood, etc.  

Pacific Threnodies will unleash an edition of 100 black-on-gold pad-printed pro-cassettes housed in large-aspect vinyl cassette albums with metallic gold outer sleeve, with full-color, hand-stitched 8-panel booklet insert and logo stickers for each band.

The future remains murky. The Heralds were set to spread across the west coast at the end of May - now, their touring schedule is unknown.
